Rooted in Afrofuturism and pulling from electronic music, hip-hop, funk, soul, psychedelia, pop, and experimental sound, Studio Object’s debut album, The Shape of an Object, exists in a world that the artist describes as FuturistiFunkadelia: music that looks backward and forward at the same time, reshaping the sounds of the past into something strange, emotional, and new.

Across the album, Studio Object explores connection, identity, transformation, love, isolation, technology, and the ways music can turn feeling into something physical. At the center of all this is the single “All Around Me,” a song about love, hope, rhythm, and the invisible things that connect us.

This project is accompanied by a feature length audiovisual piece that inspired the album.
